Frequently Asked Questions
Simple answers to your questions about NEW HOPE's work in India.
Yes - those who have been to visit us in Australia, or have been long term sponsors of our work, like Maggie sister, Janet Fromby, Mary Bentley, Allan McMullen and Rotary PDG. George Sharp. The proof is in the hundreds of children and aged leprosy patients, children on the railway station platforms, rural tribal women, people affected and being cared for by NEW HOPE from the Tsunami, babies that need immunization – endless stories and care and compassion shown by all the people involved in and with NEW HOPE. They have helped to provide, together with the many income-generating projects for the poor and for the disabled – new lives, better quality of life and a new hope.
All people involved in NEW HOPE in Australia, are volunteers, therefore, we can say with confidence 98% of your contribution goes directly to NEW HOPE. In choosing to sponsor with NEW HOPE you will join hundreds of Friends of NEW HOPE worldwide, becoming a helping hand and having a direct impact on the life of a child or aged leprosy patient, who without your help, will have less then a ‘fair change’ in life.
When you decide to become a sponsor, we choose the neediest children/leprosy patients whom need support urgently, trust NEW HOPE – they have a list of urgent priorities for children/leprosy patients in need and at risk.
Initially you will receive a photo and personal information. and then you will receive yearly updated news from either the child/leprosy patient or NEW HOPE. Yearly you will receive an updated photo.
We ask where possible that you sponsor for 3 years, and then we either ask you to renew or change to another needy child or leprosy patient. However, becoming a sponsor does not commit you to a fixed period.
